The New York Society for Ethical Culture is a humanist and ethical movement inspired by the ideal that the supreme aim of our lives is to create a more humane society. It is a member of the American Ethical Union and the International Humanist and Ethical Union. Founded in 1902, the New York Society for Ethical Culture works for causes, such as repealing death penalties and unfair drug laws. The society also raises money for DNA testing of wrongfully accused prisoners. In partnership with The Nation Institute and The Economist to host forums and present debates on various issues of civil liberty. The New York Society for Ethical Culture is located in New York City.
