The Museum of Television & Radio is a nonprofit organization that collects and preserves television and radio programs and advertisements for the general public. It organizes various exhibitions; screening and listening series; seminars and education classes to showcase its collection of more than 140,000 television and radio programs and advertisements. The programs in the museum s permanent collection are selected for artistic, cultural and historic significance. The museum also offers group visits and tours that include a screening of historic news broadcasts, drama, comedy, documentaries, short films, performing arts programs, classic sporting events and memorable commercials. The organization was founded in 1976, with offices in Beverly Hills, Calif. and New York City.
