History
Theaterlab was founded in 2005 as a non-profit arts organization. For seven years, the company was located on two floors of a building in downtown New York where it hosted international artists of note, including soprano-accordionist Nicole Renaud, Duende Flamenco dancer Carolina Fonseca, Italian theater group Motus, designer Jacques Perdigues, movement artist Linda Olthof and many more. In January 2013, Theaterlab moved to its current location, a beautiful floor-through space in Midtown (357 West 36th St.), where it continues to offer affordable rental space for artists, photographers, theatermakers and more as well as produce its own work.
