As a clinical neuropsychologist and cognitive neuroscience researcher, Dr. Leavitt studies cognitive impairment and lifestyle factors including diet, exercise, sleep, mood, and social support that contribute to optimal cognitive function in neurologic populations. In addition to developing multimodal mechanistic models of cognition, she has developed and validated several new cognitive measures and scales. Her laboratory has been continuously funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the United States Department of Defense, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
