Selfhelp Community Center
Founded in 1936, Selfhelp is a private, nonsectarian, nonprofit organization that offers senior housing and home health care services to more than 20,000 people. It is one of the largest providers of Nazi victim services in North America. The organization provides counseling services, helps with family issues and referrals to community resources through on-site social workers. Selfhelp additionally offers homemaking, housekeeping and pharmacy services. Its home health care services include assistance with meal preparation, personal care, medication management, bathing, dressing and grooming. The organization is approved by the Community Health Accreditation Program. Selfhelp maintains a presence in Brooklyn, N.Y.
