Family Services of the Piedmont
Family Service of the Piedmont is one of the largest providers of social services in the United States. A private nonprofit agency, it has been operational for more than 20 years. The agency employs more than 120 people, and serves over 26,000 children and their families. It offers a wide variety of services, such as health care, victim and prevention services, community education, and family and group counseling for children and adults, depression, anxiety, marital problems, behavioral issues, grief and trauma. Located in Greensboro, N.C., the agency's consumer credit counseling service provides free budget, credit and housing counseling for individuals and families with debt and other financial problems. It also offers 24-hour crisis services, housing assistance, behavioral health, employment, foster parent support, parent education, safe-home-for-children, supervised visitation, and therapeutic child center. Additionally, Family Service of the Piedmont provides student assistance programs, assessments, referrals for service, peer and staff training, campus awareness, topical workshops, prevention activities, and integrated cross-community development.
