History
Carolina Ear, Nose and Throat was formed in 1999. Graystone Ear, Nose and Throat, which had served Catawba County since 1970, merged with Carolina ENT/HNSC in 2011 to form the regions largest provider of Ear, Nose and Throat services with offices in Hickory, Lincolnton and Morganton. In addition to the medical and surgical treatment of ENT disorders, Carolina ENT/HNSC offers expanded Allergy care thru it's Carolina Sinus and Allergy Division as well as Implantable and Traditional Hearing Aid services and Diagnostic Hearing Evaluations thru its Carolina Audiology Division.

Dr. Mauldin is Board Certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology and also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.He also holds membership in the North Carolina Medical Society, the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngolgy and the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Mauldin received his medical degree at the University of Mississippi. He did his surgical residency at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and his otolaryngology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He served in the Air Force as an Otolarngologist from 1991 to 1993 and was with Graystone Ear Nose and Throat from 1993 to 2010. Since 2010 Dr. Mauldin has been with Carolina Ear, Nose and Throat following a merger with Graystone ENT. Dr Mauldin has served in numerous positions in the Medical Staff at both Frye Regional Medical Center and Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was Chief of Staff at Catawba Valley Medical Center in 2003.
