History
Dr. Donald Palmer founded the Olson Pediatric Clinic in 1972. It was the first pediatric office in the Lake Grove area of Lake Oswego. From the beginning, Dr. Palmer set the highest possible standard for his clinic. He hired only Registered Nurses for his clinical staff, a policy that continues to this day. He believed pediatric care should be both comprehensive and personal, that the care of every patient should be individualized, and that every patient should be treated like family. He famously knew all his patients, and their parents, by name. As his practice grew, he was careful to assure that none of these principles were compromised, eventually settling on a maximum size of five or six partners for the clinic. This seemed to be the ideal size and structure to best serve his patients for the future.
Specialties
Olson Pediatric Clinic is truly unique. Our small, caring atmosphere ensures that we will spend the time needed to know and serve your family while offering state-of-the-art healthcare to your children. We have office hours 365 days per year and offer evening appointments every weeknight. Our clinic boasts on-site full service laboratory services and digital X-ray. Each of our six board certified pediatricians works with a pediatric-trained RN (registered nurse) instead of medical assistants to ensure the highest quality professionals are available in each clinical and telephone encounter. Our front office staff answers your phone calls -- you will not reach an automated answering phone tree. You are likely to recognize their voices as our staff is committed to the mission of our clinic; most of them have been part of our family over 10 years. Our billing department is not outsourced or hidden in an office. The department is open and accessible allowing you to talk face-to-face with our specialists. They are eager to answer your questions and help you interface with insurance companies. We are proud to announce that in 2013 we earned the designation of Oregon Patient-Centered Primary Care Medical Home. For our patients this means we are committed to the highest standard of care, excellence in prevention and offer the resources of care coordination to help families navigate a complicated medical system.
