Founded in 1871, Friendship House is one of the largest children's charities in eastern Pennsylvania. It offers a full range of services for children with emotional difficulties, including infants, adolescents and families. Its staff includes a wide range of professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed social workers, mental health professionals, registered nurses, case managers, residential counselors, rehabilitation counselors, direct service professionals and certified teachers. It provides a wide range of services, which include adoption programs, residential care, child and family counseling, partial hospitalization services and foster family care. It also provides specialized education and kinship care services. Its Northeast Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders provides various autism services, such as early intensive behavioral intervention programs and comprehensive applied behavioral analysis. Friendship house provides services from more than ten locations in eastern Pennsylvania, including Pottstown Scranton, Pottsville, Philadelphia and Wayne County. The charity is headquartered in Scranton, Pa.
