Golden Technologies is one of the world s leading manufacturers of luxurious lift and recline chairs. Robert Golden, Sr., and his partner, Fred Kiwak, founded Golden Technologies in 1985 in a garage in Pittston, Pa. The company manufactures three different power chair lines. The Alante power chairs feature a swiveling seat mechanism, so that clients can utilize the power chair as either a front-wheel drive or a rear-wheel drive unit. It also manufactures the Alero foldable power wheelchair for easy transportability. In 2005, Golden launched its newest power chair, the Golden Compass, a true center-wheel drive power chair. The company now occupies a 122,000 square-foot manufacturing plant in Old Forge, Pa., and employs 160 people in research and development, production, sales and customer service.
