In 1867, shortly after the Civil War ended, R. Emmott Hare entered the insurance industry by opening his own Insurance Agency in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As this business grew a partnership was formed between Mr. Hare and Mr. Randall Chase and the firm of Hare & Chase was established. Due to causes lost to history, Mr. Chase eventually left the firm to form a new partnership with Rodman R. Heckman, Sr. and the firm of Chase & Heckman came into existence. Through the years both Hare & Chase and Chase & Heckman continued as independent organizations representing quality Insurance Companies while providing outstanding service to their respective customers.
