Founded in 1949, Philadelphia Senior Center serves more than 8,000 senior citizens in Pennsylvania. The center is accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers. It assists senior citizens and older adults to live healthy and active lives. Philadelphia Senior Center offers over 50 different classes and programs, including lunch and counseling services. The center also provides housing and health care assistance to clients. It maintains an art studio and offers drawing, painting and knitting classes for beginners and advanced students. Philadelphia Senior Center provides extracurricular activities, such as dancing, sewing, pottery, exercise and crafts, as well as maintains a bowling club.
