Founded in 1978, Ross/West View Emergency Medical Services Authority specializes in providing a pre-hospital care and medical transportation services. Based in Pittsburg, Pa., the healthcare facility provides emergency as well as non-emergency medical care, wheelchair van and rescue services for people across Ross Township, West View borough, Millvale borough, Reserve Township and Ohio Township. The medical care authority serves a population of more than 54,000 people spanning out over a 25 square mile service area. It also offers mutual aid to the bordering EMS (Emergency Medical Service) agencies of McCandless/Franklin Park EMS, Valley Ambulance, Shaler EMS, Northwest EMS and The City of Pittsburgh.
