Transit Workers Federal Credit Union, offers a full line of financial products to all its members in a professional, consistent and courtesy manner. Chartered in 1967, TWFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, democratically owned and run by its members. The credit union is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected by the membership. The responsibility of the day-to-day operation of the credit union has been delegated by the Board to a Chief Executive Officer and the staff. Transit Workers Federal Credit Union was chartered to serve employees of Philadelphia Transportation Company now know as SEPTA, employees of Transport Workers Union Local 234, retirees who retain membership in the credit union ; employees of the credit union ; members of their immediate families and organization of such persons.
