History
The Washington Crossing United Methodist Church traces its beginnings to the Betts Schoolhouse on Woodhill Road, where it met for some years. The congregation celebrated the dedication of its original church building in 1855, at which time it was called the Taylorsville Methodist Episcopal Church. The original church building was located in the village of Taylorsville, a Delaware River ferry crossing between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
