Established in 1845, Limestone College is one of the oldest educational institutions in the South. It is a private, Christian, coeducational liberal arts college that has an enrollment of more than 3,500 students. The college has a 970-plus-seat auditorium to host cultural activities. Limestone College s curriculum includes English, history, theater, music, performing arts and religion and philosophy. It offers the Program for Alternative Learning Styles for students with learning disabilities. The college also provides courses in criminal justice, social work and human resource development. In addition, Limestone College offers a range of athletic activities, such as volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis, soccer, golf and swimming. Its library maintains a collection of journals, electronic books, research databases and reference tools.
