Austin Travis County Integral Care
HistoryAustin Travis County Integral Care (ATCIC) prides itself on providing quality, community-based services for Travis County residents with brain-based disorders. ATCIC's historical beginning marked the first time that public, community-based behavioral health and intellectual disabilities services became available, known as community centers. Community centers are government agencies that receive city, county and state funds. Community centers are also 501 (c) (3) non-profit organizations, generating income through inter-local service agreements with other government entities and the private sector. ATCIC was known as the Austin Travis County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center until September 2009, when its name was changed to reflect evolving attitudes and terminology and to honor the dignity of people who seek our services.SpecialtiesAustin Travis County Integral Care provides community-based behavioral health and developmental disabilities services in Travis County, administering an annual budget of $57 million of local, state and federal funding at 44 physical facilities. In the last year, Integral Care served more than 22,000 individuals and families, offering numerous services and programs year-round. Services can include psychiatric evaluations, 24-hour crisis interventions, medication treatment, inpatient treatment, employment and vocational services, service coordination, family support and respite care, housing, information and referral, supported living and residential services. Integral Care also provides community services in homes, on the streets or at other sites as needed.
