Cook Children's Medical Center team is made up of physicians and nurses who are specially trained in pediatric emergency care. The emergency departments are supported by Teddy Bear Transport, one of the busiest transport programs in the U.S. More than 3,500 children are transported to Cook Children's Medical Center annually, most for critical care. Transport vehicles include a helicopter, jet, fixed-wing plane and five ambulances. Each are equipped to transport critical care patients and feature pediatric-oriented technology.
