History
The Guardian Mortgage Company story began back in 1965 when an enterprising young man of common sense, and uncommon smarts, had a better idea. Our founder, Jack Sweet, was building homes with his partners in Grand Blanc, Michigan and had seen first-hand there was an opportunity to provide a better mortgage experience for homebuyers. Given his experience, he felt lenders were missing the mark on customer service. Jack thought he could take advantage of this opportunity by treating the customer the way he would want to be treated, offering advice on which loan options best fit their needs and walking them through each step of the loan process. So, Jack set out to create a better kind of company. Today, Guardian has offices in Michigan and Texas with over 19,000 satisfied customers. But the foundation upon which Jack Sweet built the company has remained unchanged for nearly 50 years.
Specialties
What makes the Guardian experience special? First of all, we focus exclusively on residential mortgage loans, so we're able to work smarter and more efficiently. Second, we don't sell off our loans like other mortgage lenders. Guardian customers get low rates and excellent servicing throughout the entire life of their loans. To us, putting customers first isn't just a copy point; it's our whole way of doing business. And because Guardian is independently owned and operated, we don't have annoying phone trees or confusing corporate red tape. Just real people helping real people make their dreams of homeownership come true. Since 1965, Guardian Mortgage has been a rock of stability in an oftentimes-turbulent financial world. For 19,000 satisfied Guardian customers, we're not just another mortgage company; we're a partner they can trust.
