Founded in 1974, Amigos Del Valle is a nonprofit organization providing nutrition, transportation and housing services to seniors of Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy counties of south Texas. ADV provides daily congregate meals to more than 950 seniors, home delivered meals to over 1,350 seniors, transportation services to more than 250 seniors and subsidized rental housing apartments to nearly 600 seniors. ADV is one of the largest nonprofit developer and manages senior subsidized rental housings in Texas and owns and manages over 533 senior multifamily rental housing apartments. It is affiliated with the Housing Assistance Council, the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders and the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation. ADV derives its principle financial support from the federal and state governments and funds from various agencies including the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. It is headquartered in Mission, Texas.
