Established in 1967 by the Texas state legislature, Education Service Center Region XI is an intermediary educational agency that provides professional development, technical assistance and educational programs management services. The agency serves more than 70 public schools and over 30 charter schools in various counties in north-central Texas. Education Service Center Region XI's operational area includes nearly 65,000 educators and approximately 520,000 students. It serves Cooke, Wise, Denton, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Hood, Johnson, Somervell and Erath counties in Texas. The agency operates through several departments, including curriculum, certification, human resources, educational technology and management information services. In addition, Education Service Center Region XI conducts online, distance and on-site learning workshops.
