The Regional Maternal & Child Health Program is provided by the University of Texas Medical Branch. The program serves women and children from more than 25 counties in southern, southeastern and eastern Texas. It includes pregnancy testing, family planning, prenatal care and dysplasia services. The Regional Maternal & Child Health Program s birth center provides labor and delivery solutions and delivers over 6,200 babies a year. The program includes on-site prenatal ultrasounds and pediatric examinations. It supports the Cancer Stop Program. The Regional Maternal & Child Health Program conducts childbirth classes that include information on infant care and breast-feeding. In addition, the program features consulting and referral services.
