Taco Bell is a chain of Mexican-style restaurants that serves a variety of food items and beverages. Its menu features a selection of tacos, burritos, gorditas, quesadillas, chalupas, taquitos, nachos and various platters. Taco Bell also offers specialty items, such as the Crunchwrap Supreme, as well as a special menu for children. It serves more than 2 billion consumers annually through over 5,500 restaurants in the United States. In addition to nearly 250 overseas locations, Taco Bell operates free-standing units and quick-service kiosks at shopping malls and airports. Most of its restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees. It has restaurants in Canada, Guam, Aruba, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Ecuador and the Philippines. Taco Bell serves community youths through the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens. Its holding company, Taco Bell Corporation, was founded in 1962 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yum! Brands. Taco Bell Corporation employs more than 143,000 people and generates sales revenue of over $1.8 billion through company-owned and nearly $4.4 billion through franchised restaurants.
