Beginning in 1865 burying the dead from the Civil War, the Oliver family has served the community of Norfolk, Virginia in a compassionate and dependable manner. Five generations of Olivers have continued this tradition for over 145 years. Dedicated service to the community started with great-great-uncle Sterling T. Oliver building his first funeral home in downtown Norfolk, establishing a tradition of excellence in funeral service that continued with his nephew, H.D. Oliver and subsequently our father, Harry D. Oliver II and our uncle, James B. Oliver. Those who worked so hard to build the trust and respect of our community would be proud of the way John P. and Martin V. Oliver have maintained that trust and respect through the dedication and high standards that show in the services provided by our three locations in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia. We invite you to learn more about the background of our establishment, browse the services we offer or find the location nearest you.
