An Old Town tradition, The Market Square Shop's walls and tabletops are lined with a beguiling array of fine fabrics, pillows and traditional home accessories announcing a focus on gracious living.
Providing upholstery and fabric services since 1955, the shop also stocks seasonal linens and serving ware, lamps, décor books, gift items such as unique dish sets, picture frames, mirrors and scented potpourri with visual flair. Don't miss the extensive selection of fine furnishings care products at the back of the shop. Fabric and paint consultations are given in the shop; samples can be taken out on signature loan.
Market Square Shop was one of the Washington area's first female-owned businesses when Marjorie Land and partner Joan Leidner Miller opened the shop in a run-down part of town, later to be known as Old Town. Old Town's revival can be credited in major part to the success of Land and Miller's popular shop at 202 King Street. The present owner, who joined the original owners in 1985, carries on in much the same refined tradition ensuring personalized and knowledgable service to customers.
