Bank of Floyd was founded in 1951, with the consolidation of The Floyd County Bank and the Peoples Bank of Floyd County, which both date back to the late 1800s. The bank has six locations in Roanoke, Christiansburg, Hillsville, Salem and Willis, Va. These branches offer a variety of personal and business banking solutions, such as checking and savings accounts, money market accounts, certificates of deposit and online banking, as well as lending services, including home mortgages and consumer loans. Cardinal Bankshares Corporation, a one-bank holding company was formed in 1996 with the Bank of Floyd as the sole subsidiary.
