Lynchburg City Schools
Founded in 1871, Lynchburg City Schools offer educational services to more than 8,500 students enrolled in preschool through adult classes in two high, three middle and 11 elementary schools. The school district offers classes from grades kindergarten through 12, and also operates an early learning center. It offers various advanced placement courses and dual enrollment programs with the Central Virginia Community College. The district also provides career and technology education, guidance and counseling, and information technology. Additionally, it provides programs in arts and crafts, drama, band, orchestra, and music. The district also organizes various summer enrichment programs and special education classes for students with learning disabilities. The school district is headquartered in Lynchburg, Va.
