Church Club 1 began more than 20 years ago when Stan and Rose Florez decided to begin a husband-and-wife faith ministry for contemporary life. Club 1 stands for Christian Love United by the Blood, and while it is affiliated with Southern Baptists, the church considers itself evangelistic but non-denominational.
As Rose puts it, "Come as you are, and love where you're at, not where you should be." The church, she says, is a place for "hurting" people, and the philosophies of Club 1 are built to help modern people with real-life issues.
Services are held every Sunday at 10am at Mountain View Middle School. Club 1 is currently working with the city on construction plans for its own building, to be located off 120th Street and South Prarie Road, near the Bonney Lake/Buckley border.
Club 1 life groups are at the core of the ministry. They are small groups of people who get together during the week to pray and discuss life events and challenges. Life group members meet at each other's homes. The church also has youth group activities and a children's ministry.
