The Northwest Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Team (NW LECET) is a collaboration between Signatory Contractors, Local Unions, and District Councils in the Northwest region. Their mission is to create work opportunities, increase market share, and foster labor-management engagement through the development and implementation of programs and strategies. NW LECET works alongside two other funds, LIUNA Training and Education Fund (LIUNA Training) and Laborers Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA), to provide marketing, training, and health and safety programs that give LIUNA a competitive edge.
With a board of Labor and Management Trustees, NW LECET operates in nine states, encompassing 16 Local Unions and five District Councils. They identify new markets and positions for NW LIUNA and its signatory contractors, aiming to capitalize on emerging opportunities. NW LECET provides powerful resources such as the Northwest Construction Jobs website for worker recruitment, the Market Expansion Program (MEP) for project tracking, and other research tools to expand market opportunities. They also follow important labor and management issues, including Davis-Bacon and Prevailing Wage, Project Labor Agreements, and energy-related matters.
