Panasonic Avionics, formerly Matsushita Avionics Corporation, is a global supplier of in-flight entertainment and communication systems. Established in 1979, the company was one of the first to market video equipment to airlines and was also one of the earliest suppliers of passenger control units to the industry. Panasonic Avionics maintains headquarters in Bothell, Wash., and operates corporate and engineering offices in Lake Forest, Calif.; regional centers in Dallas, Singapore, London, Tokyo and Dubai; and field service, maintenance and sales facilities throughout the world. Panasonic Avionics is a subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Corporation of America, best known by the Panasonic brand name. In 2005, Mastushita Avionics decided to change its company name to Panasonic Avionics to take advantage of the worldwide recognition and respect for the Panasonic brand.
