The Beloit Daily News —named Best of Division in 2019 by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association — traces its roots to 1848, making it one of Wisconsin’s longest established publications. The paper is known for its community news commitment, and for its widely recognized investigative and in-depth journalism which has captured many state, regional and national honors. The paper’s website — beloitdailynews.com — became Wisconsin’s first online newspaper in 1995. The digital edition has been available online continuously since, and has been recognized for its early adoption numerous times. Over the years the newspaper went through several ownership changes but was purchased by the Hagadone Corporation in 1969. Hagadone owned the newspaper until June of 2019, when it was sold to Adams Publishing Group.
