HistoryMadison Curling Club was formed in 1921 by local enthusiasts of this grand old Scottish game. Members curled under the bleachers at Camp Randall Stadium from 1921 to 1929. In 1930, the Club began to curl at a four sheet facility located at Burr Jones Field on East Washington Avenue in Madison. The Club steadily made improvements to the facility and curling continued at Burr Jones until 1997. In that year, with the support and encouragement of the Village of McFarland, the Madison Curling Club moved to a $1.3 million, six sheet facility constructed at the Village's William McFarland Park. As curling has grown in stature throughout the world, so has the Madison Curling Club grown. We now have more than 500 members. Over the years, our members have also won many championships at the state, national and world levels.SpecialtiesMadison Curling Club members have enjoyed curling since 1921. Our season runs from late October to late March each year. We conduct Open Houses and Learn2Curl events each October to recruit new members. There are also a limited number of opportunities for group curling or corporate rentals throughout the season. During the offseason (mid-April to mid-September) our 4100 sf clubroom and 15,800 sf icehouse are available for social, business and exhibition rentals.
