The American Refugee Committee, also known as ARC, collaborates with its partners and constituencies to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, displaced people and host communities. It helps people survive conflict and crisis, as well as rebuild lives of dignity, health, security and self-sufficiency. The committee offers health care, clean water, shelter repair, legal aid, trauma counseling, microcredit and community development services, as well as repatriation assistance to individuals. The American Refugee Committee works in more than five countries throughout the world. It administers programs in the areas of microenterprise development, disaster response, gender-based violence and reproductive health care. The American Refugee Committee maintains its headquarters in Minneapolis.
