Serving since 1981, The Center for Community Alternatives is one of the leading nonprofit criminal justice agencies that provide community-based alternatives to incarceration. It offers reintegrative justice through advocacy services, as well as various programs for courts, families and defendants. The agency provides individualized solutions for drug treatment, preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS and family reunification. The Center for Community Alternatives provides treatment, vocational and educational programs, employment, housing, and other support services. Its team includes attorneys, social workers, and state and federal probation officers. Additionally, the agency maintains a research, training, public advocacy and policy division that provides information about community leaders, youth counselors, and criminal and juvenile justice issues. The Center for Community Alternatives maintains one of its locations in Syracuse, N.Y.
